Have you been outside lately? You know how you are seeing more people using tablets and smartphones? Well, it's not a trend as much as the norm any more. Walking around, we are plugged in to our mobile device. At some restaurants, the waiter or waitress takes our order. Mobile is ubiquitous. So why, why, why are there still so many businesses that have not yet adapted? I don't know, and the good news is that you have a way to take advantage of the new reality. As smartphones and tablets are ever more capable of performing tasks that used to be only capable on desktop, one thing is crystal clear: Internet surfing, connecting on social media, checking emails and online shopping is being taken over by mobile. Naturally, because mobile Internet usage is steadily increasing, you can see that it's extremely important that your website is mobile friendly. In the past, you had a website designed for desktop users and another site specifically developed for mobile users. But, now we need a website optimized for desktop, tablet and, mobile. Are you really gonna build multiple unique sites to accommodate the various screen sizes? There actually is a method to satisfy many types of users. It's called responsive web design. According to a report by Morgan Stanley, Mobile Devices will overtake Desktop usage this year. 2013 may have been hailed as "The Year of Responsive Design", but RWD is far from last year's news. Put simply, having responsive design means a website adjusts depending on which device they are being displayed on, ensuring that whether the content is viewed on a phone, tablet, or desktop computer, the website will remain user-friendly, which is ultimately the most important feature of any website or blog. So as though you really needed them, here are the Top 12 Reasons to convert to Responsive Web Design.

#1. Recommended By Google Since Google is the primary search engine to impress with your website, it is smart to follow what Google loves. Google not only recommends Responsive Web Design (RWD) as the best way to target mobile and tablet users, and also favors mobile-optimized sites when presenting results for searches made on a mobile device. This is especially true when mobile users search for local services. It's important to note more searches are originated on mobile devices. Of course there is still debate whether a separate mobile website or a single, responsive site is the best route to take. Take the following example. I search for a birthday gift on my smartphone during a break at work. I then continue researching this product on the same site on my MAC when I get home. Easier to Manage Having a separate desktop and mobile site requires having separate Google Adwords campaigns, SEO campaigns and separate Google Analytics reports. Google will naturally interpret this high bounce rate as a sign that a website irrelevant, which will lead to your drop in rankings, which is why we don't see mobile versions of sites ranked high. A Speedy Responsive Website is Key The content per page on a mobile or tablet device should load in under 1 - 2 seconds according to the Google PageSpeed Developers standards. I'm not sure how possible that is when loading a desktop website on a mobile device. I haven't timed it, and I can tell you that I don't wait long before I close the window. #9. Responsive Adapts to Future Devices As alluded to earlier, the benefit of responsive design is that the size of the template is designed based on screen size not device. Obviously, regardless of what size screen someone is viewing your website it will display properly for that screen size. Unless, there will be a worldwide movement to standardize on one screen size, responsive design is here to stay. Having a mobile website is no longer just a nice feature or after thought. The onsite messaging is awful, but they will accept outside evidence in disputes. #02: There are five major job categories on Elance: Programmers, mobile developers, designers, writers and marketers. But you can drop down into a wide ranging list, too. As one of the top freelancing websites, they maintain a great site and service. The commission is higher than most. They offer escrow payment and dispute resolution, for those jobs that don't go right. #03: Odesk is designed for freelancers who prefer hourly wages as opposed to flat fees. They are a little more expensive in their commissions, but they cover employer tax costs if the employer wants to hire you through their payroll service. You need to log in to the website while you work so it can record screen shots. #04: If you have a talent (such as being able to design a business card in one hour), PeoplePerHour is the freelancing website for you. It works like the other freelancing websites, but also allows you to post "hourlies" to drive business to you. In general, there are fewer jobs, but they are higher quality. #05: Freelanced is a job posting site. You have to register to use it, but memberships range from free to $7 per month based on the features you want. The advertisements are not. Everything is arranged offsite, but they have some nice resource links on their FAQs page for spotting scams. #09: FlexJobs is one of my favorites. This site is an aggregator, of sorts, collecting jobs they find all over the Web. But they have real people research, sift, and sort telecommuting, part-time, remote jobs of all types. It has a monthly subscription fee or $14.95 or $49.95 for an annual subscription.

#10: Patch is an online journalism freelancer website. You need to create a profile to apply for jobs writing local news stories. You must live near the reporting areas. #11: If you are an established writer (you have a blog or a book for sale), Online Writing Jobs (formerly QualityGal) might be the place for you. You apply to them and they have articles posted that you can choose to write. Payment is through weekly mailed checks or Paypal. #12: Post your resume or search job listings on Journalism Jobs. There are a variety of writing jobs, but most are targeted toward journalism. #13: Media Bistro has an excellent job board as well. Less freelance focused, but they have the occasional post that is flexible or temporary. #14: Pitch Me reverses the concept of a job-posting site. Here, freelancers pitch the articles they want to write and editors select them. To sign up, you have to click on the sign-in icon, fill in the information, and be accepted. It looks like the website takes care of payments and charges a flat fee plus commission to editors when they accept your articles. #15: If you are a Canadian writer, Canadian Freelance Writing Jobs caters to you. It offers high standards of community and pay for Canadian writers. Jobs are screened and profiles can be posted, but pay is done offsite. This website is also advertising-supported and free, but it is easy to spot the ads.

#16: TextBroker is another great service to build a profile to sell your writing skills. Like most of these services, it works both ways: I used TextBroker to get a big blogging project done earlier this year and was pleased with the quality. I have not signed up as a writer, but have considered it. They use Paypal, but cover the fees for writers. Very well organized and focused on quality. Artists and Designers #17: You can upload your artwork (as a sample or for sale) on Artwanted.com. People can search by artist information or by keywords for artwork. They charge a 15% commission if you process through them, but no fees are charged if you get paid through Paypal or another service. There is a $39/year premium membership with added benefits and the option of selling your artwork on mugs and things like that. #18: 99Designs is for designers. It allows them to showcase their work in the logo store, accept 1-to-1 projects, and design something for a "contest." Only the winner of a contest receives payment. Like other freelancer websites, it offers both escrow and invoicing payment options. Employers pay to use the website. #19: Computer Assistant is an interesting website for tech freelancers who are willing to work onsite. You register with them as you do on other freelancer sites and are then screened by them. When jobs in your area come available, based on your availability and skill, you will be notified and can bid on them. If you win the bid, you have to get a signed work order from the job and return it to get paid. #20: GetACoder targets IT people who are looking for freelance jobs. It is similar to Guru and Elance, but every job is completed through an escrow payment. Freelancers are charged both a commission on each job and either a per project fee or a monthly membership fee. There are a few jobs outside of IT listed, but not many. #21: Smashing Magazine created the Smashing Jobs outsourcing board for freelancers to pick up work. Like the other tech job boards, it isn't pretty, but it's functional. The employer pays a fee to post the job, but all other payment terms are worked out between employer and freelancer. Odesk, mentioned above, is also heavily tech-focused. #22: You can get online tutoring jobs on Tutor.com after you pass through the application process. #25: If you are an expert in certain areas of knowledge, you can get paid to answer other people's questions on Just Answer. You choose the questions to answer, but you have to fill out an application/profile, take a brief test, and verify that you have some sort of knowledge credentials (such as a certification or college degree). You get paid a percentage based on your ratings. #26: Notary Publics can register with CDS Signing Services, and they will schedule you with potential clients who come available in your area. #27: Attorneys, paralegals, and law support staff can check out Update Legal. You apply to their website, and they will help match you with temporary or permanent positions. They also offer benefits. #28: Uber, Lyft, Sidecar, and other ride-sharing services are popping up all around the USA. You go through a background check and other steps to become an approved driver. How to Use GitHub for Hosting Files?

Google Code is expired now. You can not host any files on Google Code now and in next year on Jan 25, 2016 Google will completely shut down their Google Code Service. This is a bi issue for those using Google Code for hosting their JavaScript, CSS, etc Files even personal project. Next Year, all files that are on Google Code will deleted permanently. Secrets to Write Powerful Headlines

Headline has the power to grab a reader's attention and entice them into reading more about your business and your work. The headline is the most important element for getting your business content read. #1: Keep it short and snappy No-one pays attention to long-winded, over-blown headlines. No-one has the patience and we'll lose interest. As a rule of thumb, never use more than 100 characters in a headline, tell your readers exactly what you have planned for them, and make the headline punchy, to-the-point and understandable.

#2: Show how you can help but don't be afraid of negativity

Appeal to your target audience by telling them how your article will solve their problem or fix a growing issue. Promise them something valuable or teach them a new skill that they've not known before. Try writing 'How to... ' or 'Get started by... ', which often draws the reader into wanting to know more. Play around with the word order and be creative. Ask questions, demand answers and even employ a little negativity. You'd be surprised at how well 'The Questions You Should Never Ask Your Mother-in-Law' might do.

#3: Appeal directly to the reader One way of including the reader in your work is to show them that you understand their needs and that your blog writing expertise will assist them. Writing headlines using "you" and "we" appeals much more directly. Example are, 'What Would You Do if You Lost Your Job Tomorrow?' or 'How We Can All Avoid Making Huge Financial Mistakes'. Speaking in this way to the reader is a powerful tool - it can seem as if you've written the piece specifically for them or that you're standing in solidarity with them. #4: List the benefits but try to be unique Lists are effective because they tell the reader exactly what to expect from your article or post and can grab them from the start. For example, '7 Ideas That Will Change Your Life Forever' or '3 Tips For Becoming a Brain Surgeon'.

If you're going to write a list, don't rely too heavily on the use of "Things". Instead, look at using "Tricks", "Ways", "Ideas", "Lessons" and "Facts" as possible alternatives. Remember that a headline is your first point of contact with the reader. The type of headline depends on who you're writing for and what you plan to write about. By keeping a headline short, punchy, relevant and engaging, you'll get extra attention, more clicks and hopefully lots of keen new customers.

How to Prevent Image Theft on Blogger?

Put plain and simple: the only way to protect your images from being downloaded or stolen off a web page is to not put them online in the first place. While I put this fact out there as blunt as possible, there are several techniques we can use to make website downloads and image theft much harder. Of course, image theft can be defined in a number of ways, and its definition - and hence measures (if any) taken to prevent it - will depend upon the individual. There are many ways to protect images from being downloaded, ranging from modifying the image itself , to preventing webpages downloads, to being pro-active in finding unauthorized usage of images online. And while I discuss many common types of image protection, there are many others that I do not mention. A few of the techniques mentioned in this article are directed more towards web designers (these tips are marked with an *), but several can be used on photo sharing website's such as smugmug, flickr, pbase, and webshots. What is image theft? Image theft is the unauthorized use of an image, photograph, drawing, or illustration. Well duh. Is it really that simple? Of course not. The hard part is that many people differ in the definition of 'unauthorized use'. Where one person may not care whether their photograph is downloaded from a web page and placed on another website without their knowledge, there are some that find this to be blatant copyright infringement.

Can I download an image? If you are interested in knowing whether unauthorized downloading and use is illegal: many websites will have an image use statement, and it is best and safest to ALWAYS ask the artist for permission. Ultimately, the default for image downloading and usage should ALWAYS be "All Rights Reserved" (eg don't use without permission).

Can I protect an image? If you are an artist interested in protecting your images: it is best to first define for yourself what your policy on image theft is, then define the measures you need to protect your images (even if this means not putting your images online in the first place). It is important to publicly display your policy on image use in an image use statement on your website.

Image Protection with a Watermark The most common, and possibly strongest, image protection technique is to place a visual copyright watermark on the image. Image watermarks come in a range of styles: from a full copyright symbol across the image to simply small text in the corner of an image containing the copyright symbol, date, and name of the copyright holder. There is a trade off with watermark size: the larger the watermark the less likely one is to download or steal the image, but the larger the watermark the more of a visual distraction it becomes.
How to do it in Photoshop: Image watermarks are easy to create in Photoshop: make a new layer with the desired text, adjusting its size and location to best suit your needs. To type the copyright symbol © in text, you can type option+g (mac) or Ctrl+Alt+C (PC). Changing the blending mode and opacity for this layer can create a more artistic and less obstructive watermark: for example 'soft light' layer blending can create a nice opaque blend. It is possible to further customize the watermark by using layer blending options such as a dropped shadow and/or beveling. Digimarc, a technology that can be integrated as a Photoshop plug-in, can also produce a digital watermark through the use of digital noise that is read by software. Despite the presence of a watermark however, its survival through image manipulations is not definite, and the lack of a visual symbol may not prevent image theft - only act as proof of copyright owner in case of theft. Note: Of course an image watermark specifies a copyright directly in the image, but a copyright can also be clearly indicated in text near the image; including the date of copyright, the copyright holder's name, and your rights management (eg all rights reserved or a creative commons type license). I will however mention that JavaScript is client-side, and scripts such as these can not only effect the usability of a website, but can also readily be disabled by turning JavaScript off.

Prevent Search Engine Indexing:

Protecting images from search engine indexing can be accomplished in two ways. First, a META tag can prevent images from getting indexed, but allow the rest of the page to be found in searches:

This meta information prevents search engine spyders (eg. robots) from indexing images only: this is in contrast to using the "noindex" or "nofollow" contents tags which are general commands that effect the entire webpage. The second method is to use a robot.txt file. This file, which should be a plain text file created with a simple text editor and placed in the root directory of a website, is inspected by search engine spyders the moment they arrive and is a method to tell spyders which directories or files on a website to NOT visit and NOT index. If you have a directory that contains all images for a website, this can be added to the file:

Disallow:/image.jpg

The above example tells spyders or 'bots', designated by the asterisk, to disregard the directory /images/ and disregard the file /image.jpg. It should be noted that not all search engines honor these methods, and while major search engines such as google, yahoo, and msn honor them there will be other search engines that will not. Note: In the case of online photo sharing websites, flickr allows you to remove images from public searches: this is done within the Privacy and Permissions section of your account. Google Code Shutting Down Soon

Google Code shutting down on Jan 25, 2016. For Blogger template developers, Google Code is used to host javascript and CSS files. There are almost 70% of Blogger Template that run with the help of Google Code and if Google soon closed this service then many Blogger templates will stop working. Google give us a to export our Google Code work to Github but this is not possible for all. Below is the Email sent be Google regarding my Google Code Projects.

But a lot has changed since 2006. In the past nine years, many other options for hosting open source projects have popped up, along with vibrant communities of developers. It's time to recognize that Google Code's mission to provide open source projects a home has been accomplished by others, such as GitHub and Bitbucket.
We will be shutting down Google Code over the coming months. Starting today, the site will no longer accept new projects, but will remain functionally unchanged until August 2015. After that, project data will be read-only. Early next year, the site will shut down, but project data will be available for download in an archive format.
As the owner of the following projects, you have several options for migrating your data.

I'm hesitant to either use superlatives or make predictions concerning search engine innovations, but the joint announcement by Google, Yahoo and Bing introducing schema.org is, in my opinion, pretty big news. Schema.org at once provides a mechanism by which semantic web technologies can become a lot more mainstream, and at the same time offers the possibility of superior search visibility for search marketers that embrace this standardized, structured on-page markup.

We all know that Schema SEO used for WordPress is easy. There are lots of plugin for WordPress to improve SEO for Site. But we can't say that Blogger Templates has lack of SEO setting. Almost all premium templates and few free templates too has good SEO setup for better indexing Blogger Blog. But, there is something that still do have in Blogger Templates reagarding SEO Schema. That is 'Review Schema". If you ever search on Google about IMDB Movie then you must saw the rating stars, votes, etc on Google Search result.
